In Proverbs 4:20-22 the Bible teaches that the Word of God is medicine to your flesh: “My son, attend to My Words; incline thine ear unto My sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”
God intends for you to take His Word for your physical health, in the way that you would ingest medicine. He instructs you to attend or be attentive, paying special attention to His Word; to incline or direct your focus and attention to His sayings. In other words, you are to be receptive and teachable in regards to both His Word and His sayings, both to the written “Logos” in the Scripture and to His spoken “Rhema” Word.
Whether it comes to you as the Logos or the Rhema now Word from the Holy Spirit and His prophets, the Word of God is full of power to bring health and strength to your body.
His instruction is that you do not allow His Word to depart from your eyes. As you incline your ear and focus your eyes upon the Word of God, you admit the Word into your heart and you meditate and treasure it, giving it as much care as you would a most important and valuable medicine.
Keep a storehouse of God’s medicine in your heart in abundance. It has the power to keep you healthy, and full of strength and vitality.
